本会针对成邦江区选民投票单被冠上观音娘娘圣像事件文告

文告发布会上，右起顺兴公会会务主任甲必丹郑耀民、名誉顾问1林巧南、主席郑秋华、永久名誉主席拿督陈宗宗明、署理主席刘英汉、社区领袖本曼查李祥禾及副主席甲必丹郭翼升。

成邦江顺兴公会理事会及慈云阁众善信深感遗憾，得知近几天来社交媒体微信广泛流传二个版本的N32成邦江区选民投票单，即分别印着观音娘娘圣像及该区国阵候选人拿督法兰吉斯哈丁肖像。

 
为此，我们在2016年5月3日向斯里阿曼警局备案，因为我们认为此事事关重大，不仅冒犯了神明观音娘娘，更及侮辱我们所信仰的宗教。我们向警方提供了相关资料，供他们进行调查。我们也提供线索于警方，方便他们探查此照片的原本出处。

我们希望在州选竞选的非常时刻，各相关政党或候选人必须遵守相关的选举条文与法令，避免发布及发表一切直接或可能冒犯或侮辱任何宗教的举动，影响社会和谐。

如果这是一项竞选的手段，我们严厉谴责。如果这是无知，我们本着观音的慈悲加以宽恕，同时诚心呼吁那些涉及设计和在社交媒体流传该照片的人士们即刻删除及停止流传该照片，并向全体观音娘娘信众做合理的解释。

It has come to the knowledge of the Committee of Simanggang Soon Heng Society that there are 2 photographs of polling slip/voucher for N.32 Simanggang, one with the photograph of Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy) and another with the photograph of Datuk Francis Harden Ak Hollis, which have been circulating in the social media such as WeChat for the past few days.

On 03.05.2016, we have lodged a police report on this matter as we believe that the above amounts to an insult (blasphemy) to Guanyin and the religion of Buddhism. We have furnished the relevant evidence to the police for their investigation and action. We have also informed the police of the identity of the person whom we believe the said photographs originated from.

In this campaigning period for the 2016 State Election, the Society hopes that all parties will duly abide by all relevant rules and regulations and refrain from making statements and doing things which may directly or indirectly insult any religion.

We humbly urge all those who were involved in the creation and circulation of the said photographs in the social media to withdraw and cease further circulation of the same immediately.
