Ladies & Gentlemen
Tonight, I am very
happy & excited to see that so many of you are here to joint our
installation and appreciation night of Simanggang Soon Heng Society.
First of all, I
would like to say a few words about of the history of our Soon Heng Society.
This society was
set up about 120 years ago by our ancestors to look after the welfare of the
communities during the colonial/ White Rajahs time, and also represent the
communities to deal with the white men at that time. It is admirable that some 120
years ago, our ancestors already had the ideology of setting up a “kongsi” (so-called
at that time) to deal with the government at that time. Moreover, our ancestors
also set up school, community hall, cemetery, temple for worship and so on. Even
though many of our ancestors did not have the benefit of education, yet they
realised that they have to be united to have the strength to deal with other
parties.
I hope that the
ideology and concept of our ancestors mentioned earlier would be followed by us
and the younger generation. I also believe that it is an obligation of the
younger generation to join this Society and participate actively in the
activities so as to carry on what our ancestors have built for us. In fact,
they have gone through the hardships and we are enjoying the fruits.
So, I humbly urge
our younger generation to come forward and together we make this society
stronger. With the strength, we will be able to build more for the benefits of
our members.
Simanggang Soon
Heng Society now has over 1000 members. Our society is operating a huge &
beautiful temple in town. It also emphasizes on education by operating Tadika
Simanggang and general welfare of the members. Regularly, the society organizes
various kinds of program to improve the level of education of the members &
also helps those members who are in need of financial help.
Ladies and
Gentlemen, I, on behalf Simanggang Soon Heng Society, would like to give our
highest respect to all our past leaders who had contributed so much in order to
build up this society.
Finally, to the
young people of Sri Aman, I wish say this: come forward and join us to make
this society better and stronger for betterment and goodness of the Sri Aman
peoples. We must be proud of being a member of Soon Heng Society as we did not
disappoint our ancestors by taking up the challenge to continue their struggle.

今晚我感到非常高興與激動。因為我看到了一個充滿大愛的公會，不分籍貫，不分種族的聚集一堂。這就是我們的順興公會。
感謝大家踴躍參加我們順興公會的感恩晚宴與新一屆理事2014-2015年的就職典禮與推展120週年活動慶典。
首先，我藉此機會與大家分享順興公會的歷史點滴。順興公會是一個歷史悠久的公會。成立於120年前。那時的成邦江是處於殖民時代。當時我們的祖先已有意願成立一個'所謂公司'來打理社區子民的福利，代表人民去與當時的政府討論民生課題如建立學校、民誼、先人墓地、寺廟等設施。雖然我們的祖先並沒有機會接受高深的教育，但他們已深深體會到人民必須團結起來才能爭取到來自高層的援助與福利。
我們的先賢為順興建立了一個百年基業，帶給了我們一個安居樂業的社區。今天我們享受到的成果是先賢們流下的汗血。為了感恩，我們唯有帶動先賢的信念繼續努力經營我們的順興公會。在這裡，我呼吁年輕的一代，飲水思源，負起這個責任，把我們的公會發揚光大。
目前順興公會已有一千多名會員。公會擁有一個萬人信仰的寺廟，慈雲閣和一間幼稚園。公會也注重孩子們的教育，將來的出路等問題。公會的福利也普及各方面。如貧窮家庭有經濟上的困難，都可以提呈商討解決。
從今晚開始到明年中，我們公會將展開一系列活動以慶祝順興120週年。我們的活動涉及多方面，以教育、福利、體育及學術等為主體，希望大家踴躍參加。通過各種活動，能聯絡感情，交流心得，促進成邦江子民團結一致。展現成邦江人的特色與精神。
今晚，我謹代表順興公會向卸任主席拿督陳宗明，永久名譽顧問本固鲁劉任興，與其他前領導們致萬二分謝意。更希望在今後的日子裡，他們能繼續扶持順興事業。體現一日為順興人，終身為順興人的精神。
最後，我希望能與新一屆理事們同心協力，共同維護，維持與經營我們的公會。我們呼吁斯里阿曼的年輕人踴躍加入我們的行列，一起為我們的斯里阿曼人民建造更美好的家園。身為順興公會的一份子，我們應該感到驕傲因為我們帶著先賢的理念為了公會奮鬥到底。
